Speaker at Lorain International Festival Breakfast

Lion Dan Smith represented the Lorain Lions Club at the Lorain International Festival Breakfast on June 20. Alec D. Van Ryan talked about how legendary Journal Editor Irving (Leibo) Leibowitz created the International Festival 50 years ago. Alec was the reporter at the paper chosen by the editor to write about the festival's beginnings. A scrapbook of his articles are on display at the Lorain Historical Society's Carnegie Center. Also pictured is Marilyn Zeidner, daughter of the late Journal editor.  Dan presented Alec with one of Lorain Lions lighthouse pins. Lorain Lions and Lorain High School Leos plans to march and hand out candy at the International Parade on Sunday, June 26.
