LORAIN AUTHOR KELLY SAGERT RECOUNTS THE STORY OF EMMA GATEWOOD

Kelly Boyer Sagert, local Lorain writer and author of books and plays, told Lions the inspiring story of Emma Gatewood, credited with saving the Appalachian Trail, at our June 26 luncheon meeting.  Kelly wrote a script for a play about the elderly Ohio woman who was the first woman to ever walk the entire length of the Appalachian Trail that was performed locally by True North Cultural Arts and will be performed again this coming November in Akron.  The story is being filmed for a PBS documentary.
