Lion Harold Lee: 50+ Year Lion



Harold E. Lee (1929 - 2013)

Harold E. Lee, age 83, of Lorain passed away
 at home Thursday morning March 14th.
Born December 4th, 1929 in Gallia County OH, 

Harold was a resident of Lorain since 1977. 
Harold retired as an electrical engineer from
 Lorain Products in 1998 where he had worked
 for more than 20 years. He was a 1955 graduate 
of Indiana Institute of Technology; a veteran of the 
US Army serving in Korea during the Korean War; 
an active member of Lions Club for over 50 years; 
and a longtime member of Toast Masters.
Harold was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award 

for dedicated Humanitarian Services. Lions International 
recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing 
on them an award that is named for its founder, Melvin Jones. 
This Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition 
and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the 
nature and purpose of Lionism. Harold was also the 
co-founder of the Harold E. and Laura F. Lee Scholarship Fund 
at Indiana Institute of Technology for second chance students.
Harold is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jean E. Lee; 

his children David M. Lee, Andrew D. Lee, Rebecca J. Gisser, 
James A. Lee, Joseph E. Lee, step daughter Dawn Bodnar; 
his brothers Robert E. Lee, Cecil E. Lee, Ernest W. Lee, 
and sister Chestora I. Lee; and, six grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, 

Laura F. Lee, his son Mark A. Lee, brothers Loyd E Lee and 
Francis W. Lee, daughter-in-law Diane Lee and 
grandchildren Amy and Allison Lee.
Visitations will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, 

March 17th at the Schwartz Spence Boyer and Cool Home, 
1124 5th Street, Lorain, OH with a reception to follow
 at Rebman Recreation Center hosted by 
the Lorain Lions Club.
