The Lorain Lions Club has been serving the Lorain community and its citizens since it was founded in 1922. The club meets every Thursday at Rebman's On The Avenue, 5300 Oberlin Avenue, at noon, except on the first Thursday when it meets at 7 p.m. for dinner. Lions meet advisor for new Lorain High School Leo Club
From left, Lion Marianne Parker of Elyria Evening Lions and District 13B chairperson for Leo Clubs, Lori Pyers-Goodwin, Lorain High teacher who will serve as advisor to the new Lorain High Leo Club, and Steve Sturgill, assistant superintendent of Lorain City Schools. Lorain Lions got a chance to meet Lori at the Thursday, May 26, noon meeting. Sturgill spoke of the school system desire to work with community service organizations like the Lorain Lions Club. Lion Marianne will be helping Lori adapt to her new post. Leo Clubs are a youth organization of Lions Clubs International. The word L E O stands for Leadership, Experience, Opportunity.
