Lions hear from two special speakers
Two interesting speakers addressed the Lorain Lions Club's night meeting of April 9. They were Herb de la Porte (left), founder and operator of Lifecare Ambulance in Lorain County, and Lions District 13B Second Vice District Gov. Steve Cochie (right) of Tiffin. Herb spoke of his family's immigration from the Netherlands to Lorain County and how they created the successful ambulance company. He also demonstrated with the help of a rubberized dummy how to apply CPR and apply shock treatment from a defibrillator on a heart attack victim. Lion Steve, a veteran of the Afghanistan conflict, as well as a rising official in the Lions organization, came to Lorain to thank the Lorain Lions Club for all they do for their community.
