LIONS LEARN ABOUT EBOLA PRECAUTIONS IN LORAIN COUNTY

Jami Krugman, RN with Lorain County Health Department, with First Vice President Frank Csubak at the Nov. 13 noon Lorain Lions meeting.  She gave an informative talk on how health agencies, hospitals and medical services in Lorain County are prepared to deal with Ebola and any other infectious diseases. She put a lot of minds at rest on well the county is prepared to deal with such emergencies if they arise.

WEOL 930 AM MANAGER TIM ALCORN SPEAKS TO LIONS

Tim Alcorn, manager of WEOL 930 AM radio station, spoke to Lions at our November 6 evening meeting.  Tim talked about his passion to do high school sports broadcasting from an early age, his friendship with Joe Tait and changes in the radio broadcasting business over the past 20 years.  This was a fascinating program that everyone enjoyed.

Lion Tom Sigman, who works in the Human Resources department at Lorain National Bank, has already proven himself to be a hard worker at our pancake breakfast last weekend.  Please welcome Lion Tom the next time you see him.

LMHA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HOMER VIRDEN SPEAKS TO LIONS

Homer Virden, Executive Director of Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority, spoke to the Lions at our October 23 luncheon meeting.  Homer updated us on the many programs offered through LMHA and the collaborations with many local community organizations and agencies.  The updating and redevelopment of Southside Gardens is one of many upcoming projects on the LMHA agenda.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR HILLIS VISITS LORAIN LIONS


ABOVE:  District Governor Jeff Hillis (left) chats with Past President Doug Kayle, Global Membership Team member and District Cabinet member, following the October 30 luncheon meeting.  DG Hillis gave an update on the state of District 13B, and the success of the district's Invite 35 Program, which encourages each club to invite 35 people to join Lions.  The District is plus 40 members as of November 1.  Governor Hillis also talked about the Lions Clubs International goal of serving 100 million people between this year and LCI's 100th anniversary in 2017.
