YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN ADDRESSES LIONS

Youth Services Librarian Supervisor, Elaine Betting, spoke to Lions at our March 13 luncheon meeting about the Lorain Public Library System's Summer Reading Club.  More than 2,200 children participate and receive a book as a they complete a specified number of hours reading.  If they participate from pre-school through the 12th grade, they can build their own home library of 85 books.  This program helps children retain reading skills through the summer months school vacation.
