Lions see new Veterans Honor Guard vehicle


Dick Bogady (top) and Clark (bottom) of the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard show off the 14-passenger vehicle the group was able to purchase to transport honor guards to military funerals in the greater Lorain area and to the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The vehicle, valued at $39,000 was purchased for $26,500 through donations, including $1,000 from the Lorain Lions Club, through the Tesco Co. in Oregon, Ohio. The vehicle was brought to the Feb. 10 noon Lions meeting at Rebman's On the Avenue.

Lions learn of International Women's Air & Space Museum

Toni Mullee of Bay Village gave an informative PowerPoint presentation to Lorain Lions and guests at the Thursday, Feb. 3, evening meeting on the International Women's Air & Space Museum at Burke Lakefront Airport in downtown Cleveland. The IWASM is home to the only collection of its kind in the world, being uniquely dedicated to the preservation of the history of women in all aspects of aviation and aerospace.
