United Way's Bill Harper Updates Lions

Bill Harper, Executive Director of the United Way of Greater Lorain County, explained the mission and vision of UW and the many partnerships that go far deeper and broader than the traditional role of fundraising and allocation.  This was a very interesting and informative presentation.  Bill also talked about the new location that UW just firmed up in the purchase of the former Tivoli Theater site in downtown Lorain.

Ohio Lions District 13 OH-2 Vice District Governor Addresses Lions

1st Vice District Governor Greg Hess attended the Lions February 9 luncheon meeting and talked about the PlusOptix screening equipment the District acquired and can lend to local clubs at no cost for vision screenings for pre-schoolers and elementary stundents.  It was great to have VDG Greg with us!

Tom Brown Speaks to Lions on Fire Department and Port Authority

Tom Brown, retiring Lorain Fire Chief and newly appointed Executive Director of the Lorain Port Authority, spoke to Lions at our February 2 dinner meeting and gave his insights on his accomplishments at the fire department and the challenges of developing the Lorain waterfronts.  Certainly, the passage of the fire levy in November 2016 was a transformative event for the future of the fire department.
