SUICIDE IS PREVENTABLE

ABOVE:  At our September 11 luncheon meeting Lion President Kim Worden (left) welcomed Kathleen Kern (center) of the Lorain County Board of Mental Health, who spoke about the signs of depression that could lead to suicide and how to engage persons contemplating suicide and refer them to the programs available in Lorain County to get the help they need.  Lion Charlie Neff (above right), Executive Director of the Board of Mental Health, also spoke about the Board's renewal levy that will be on the Nov. 4 ballot and explained its critical importance to sustain programs such as Suicide Prevention.  Excellent and informative program!

PROPOSED CHARTER GOVERNMENT EXPLAINED TO LORAIN LIONS

LORAIN COUNTY METROPARKS DIRECTOR REVIEWS PARK'S PAST SUCCESSES, FUTURE PLANS

James Ziemnik, Executive Director, Lorain County Metropark system, attended the Lions August 31 luncheon meeting and reviewed the accomplishments of the past 10 years in setting up new parks and facilities in the county.  It was very impressive, with the prospect of more wonderful projects ahead as they continue to develop the park system for recreation and enjoyment of the people of Lorain County and beyond.
